Apollo is an all-in-one sales platform, database, sequencer, dialer and CRM sync under one login. AI Ark is a B2B data platform that does one job: find the right contacts and hand you a file you can send to immediately. If you already own your outreach stack, the question is which data source feeds it. If you don't, Apollo replaces several tools at once and AI Ark won't.
Key takeaways
Different scope. Apollo integrates data with sequences, dialer and CRM sync. AI Ark is data only, no sending, no dialer, no native CRM sync. That's the difference for teams that already use Instantly, Smartlead, lemlist or HubSpot.
Different point of validation. Apollo assigns an email status inside its database and you filter on it. AI Ark validates every email at the moment of export via BounceBan and only puts valid addresses in the file.
Apollo's own numbers. Apollo's verified emails hold an 84% match rate and better than 90% accuracy, and Apollo refunds the credit if a verified email bounces within 30 days.
Catch-all handling differs. Third-party verifiers have been known to mark catch-all addresses as deliverable. AI Ark validates catch-all using BounceBan and only allows catch-all that are validated.
Pricing models aren't directly comparable. Apollo is per seat with a credit allocation attached. AI Ark sells credits standalone with no seat multiplier. Section 6 works through both.
Refresh cadence. AI Ark updates its entire database on a monthly (30-day) basis. Apollo doesn't have a single refresh rate, it’s the continuous verification that happens through its contributor network.

What Teams Say About AI Ark
Dean Fiacco
Founder @ Beanstalk
What is AI Ark?
AI Ark is a B2B data platform built for teams that build lists at volume, outbound agencies, GTM engineers and in-house prospecting teams. It covers company search, people search, AI Lookalike search, semantic search and an enrichment API.
It's assumed that you have your outreach tooling. The role of AI Ark is to supply you with a tidy file of contacts that align with your ICP, where emails are validated by the time they are exported, not at some previous time in the database's history.
Distinctive capabilities include AI Company Lookalike (semantic matching on company description, products and services rather than firmographics alone), Net New vs Saved Records so the same contact is never charged twice, and filters that most databases don't carry, headcount growth, employees by department, time in role versus time at company, and company HQ filtered separately from a person's location.
What is Apollo?
Apollo is an all-in-one sales platform combining a B2B database with sequencing, a dialer, email deliverability tooling, conversation intelligence and CRM sync. Apollo positions it as a single system covering the workflow from finding a contact through to booking the meeting.
Apollo's database is built on a contributor network, connected inboxes, CRMs and uploads that feed verification signals back into the dataset, alongside public crawling and third-party providers. Apollo uses SMTP verification as one input and layers contributor-network evidence on top.
Apollo's pricing is transparent, they have a free-forever tier and it's used by a huge number of users. For a team with no current stack, it is replacing three or four individual purchases for the team.

Run the same search you'd run in Apollo. Free tier, no card required.
Data quality: where validation happens
This is the substantive difference between the two products, and it's narrower than most comparison pages suggest. The question is when validation happens, and what ends up in your file.
How Apollo does it
Apollo assigns each contact an email status inside the database, Verified, Likely to engage, Unverified, Update required or Unavailable. You filter on that status when building a list. Verified emails hold an 84% match rate and an accuracy rate above 90%. A verified email costs one credit, and Apollo refunds it if the address bounces within 30 days.
Apollo also addresses head-on why tools like NeverBounce or ZeroBounce sometimes flag its verified emails: those tools rely on SMTP checks, and Apollo's contributor network gives it evidence an SMTP probe can't see, particularly on catch-all domains.
It’s a fair stance, and a sincere promise on the credit refund. The real impact is that it's a point in time confidence label that is placed on a database record. It reports the results of the last assessment of that address made by Apollo, not the current result as reported by the receiving server.
How AI Ark does it
AI Ark runs validation at the moment of export. When you request contacts with valid emails, every address is checked in real time through BounceBan, including catch-all domains. Addresses that come back invalid, risky or unknown are not included in the file.
The consequence is a different kind of output. You don't receive a labelled list to filter and clean, you receive a file where the email column has been validated seconds before you downloaded it. Around 70% of contacts in an export return a valid email. The other three in ten arrive as base profiles. Those records still carry LinkedIn URL, title and company data for LinkedIn-based outreach.
The trade-off, stated fairly
Real-time validation comes with a price: exports that include email validation will be slower than exports that don't include email validation, because every address you are sending is being validated in real time. Apollo's way gives you instant results.
There is also a scenario where Apollo's model is better. If your workflow depends on filtering a database before deciding what to export, seeing email status as a search filter and choosing accordingly, Apollo gives you that visibility upfront. AI Ark cannot pre-filter for "has a valid email" because it doesn't know until verification runs at export.
The way to do this is to export the same 500-contact list from both, mail to both, and then compare the bounce rates. Neither the vendor's published figure can replace a test with your own ICP.
True cost: what a valid lead actually costs
List price is the wrong comparison because the two products bill differently. Apollo charges per seat and attaches a credit allocation to each one. AI Ark charges for credits with no seat multiplier.
Published pricing
Apollo :
Plan | Monthly | Annual |
Free | $0 | $0 |
Basic | $65/seat | $49/seat |
Professional | $99/seat | $79/seat |
Organization | $149/seat, min 3 | $119/seat, min 3 |
A verified email costs one credit per contact.
AI Ark runs three plans (ai-ark.com/pricing, accessed August 2026):
Plan | Monthly | Annual (save 20%) |
Free | $0, always free | $0, always free |
Usage Based | From $49/month, 5,000 credits/month | From $470/year, 60,000 credits/year |
Agency & Enterprise | Custom, not publicly stated | Custom, not publicly stated |
You buy credits rather than paying per seat, and packages run from 5,000 credits a month up to 5,000,000, across twelve tiers. Annual billing saves 20%, the entry annual package is $470 for 60,000 credits a year.
AI Ark charges 0.5 credits for a contact record and a further 0.5 credits when a valid email is found. A mobile number costs 5 credits; a company record costs 0.1.
Both vendors publish self-serve pricing, and both keep an enterprise tier private, Apollo's custom plan and AI Ark's Agency & Enterprise plan are each quoted on request. The real difference is structural: Apollo prices per seat, AI Ark prices per credit.
The counterpoint we should make honestly
An Apollo Basic seat costs $49 a month billed annually, $588 a year, and that isn't buying only data. It includes unlimited sequences, CRM integrations, intent topics and a Chrome extension. If you would otherwise pay separately for a sending tool, the comparison shifts substantially and can favour Apollo outright.
The cost argument for AI Ark holds in one case: you already own your outreach stack and are buying data as a standalone input. The seat multiplier is the largest cost to a team of 5 paying 5 Apollo seats to receive 5 credit allocations. If you are a solo entrepreneur without a sending tool, then it's probably better to go with Apollo's bundle.
The other cost on both sides of the comparison that is not mentioned is verification. If you are using the MillionVerifier or ZeroBounce on your process before sending, then this line item should be included in the calculation and the time it takes. AI Ark's model gets rid of it. Apollo says it's not necessary. The only true judge of your own bounce data is yourself.

Compliance and data sourcing
We're a B2B search engine and data provider. For data you upload or export, you're the controller and we're your processor. For our own prospect database, we act as an independent controller. We process publicly sourced data under legitimate interests, GDPR Article 6(1)(f), and handle opt-out requests at ai-ark.com/opt-out. Our terms carry an FCRA disclaimer, prohibit sensitive-category data and data on under-18s, and place responsibility for establishing a lawful basis before outreach on you.
On customer data, the question most comparison pages dodge, our licence to use what you upload is limited to your subscription term, and product-improvement use is restricted to de-identified or aggregated forms. If you'd rather your data weren't used that way, you can say so or agree separate terms.
Apollo holds ISO 27001 certification and a SOC 2 Type 2 report, both audited by A-LIGN, and complies with GDPR and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We don't currently hold ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
Choose Apollo if
You don't already have a sending tool and want data, sequences and a dialer in one subscription
You need intent data or buying signals as part of prospecting
Native two-way Salesforce or HubSpot sync is a requirement rather than a preference
Your reps prospect through a Chrome extension while browsing LinkedIn or company sites
You want to filter for email status before exporting, and see it as a search facet
You're a solo founder or a small team where one seat covers the whole operation
Cold calling is a core motion and you need a dialer in the same tool
Apollo is a mature, well-supported platform with published pricing and a real free tier. For a large share of teams it is the right answer, and if the list above describes you, we'd rather you knew that now.
Choose AI Ark if
You already own your outreach stack and are buying data as a standalone input
Deliverability is the constraint and you want validation done at export, not filtering afterwards
You build lists at volume, TAM maps, client lists, bulk exports of thousands of records
The per-seat multiplier is your cost problem: several people need data access and you're paying per seat to get credit allocations
Catch-all domains represent a meaningful share of your target market
Credits that don't disappear, an annual pool with rollover, rather than a monthly allowance that expires unused
You're an agency or GTM engineer piping data into Clay, n8n or your own pipeline
Predictable credit economics matter, rollover, no double-charging for saved records, published prices at every tier
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is AI Ark a direct replacement for Apollo?
For the data layer, yes, and that's what most teams switch for. If you already run a sending tool like Instantly, Smartlead or lemlist, AI Ark drops into that stack and takes over from Apollo's database directly. If Apollo is currently your entire outbound platform, you'd keep a sequencer and dialer elsewhere: AI Ark is built to feed those tools rather than replace them.
2. Is AI Ark's data more accurate than Apollo's?
They publish different measures, so they aren't directly comparable. Apollo's verified emails hold an 84% match rate and above 90% accuracy. We validate every email at export through BounceBan and include only valid addresses in the file. The only valid comparison is to export the same list from both and compare their bounce rates.
3. Do I still need a separate email verifier with AI Ark?
No. Validation runs at export, so the file contains only addresses confirmed valid at that moment. Apollo's position is that a third-party verifier isn't needed with its data either, teams that currently run one should compare their own bounce data before assuming either way.
4. What happens with catch-all domains?
AI Ark validates catch-alls with BounceBan and adds to the list those that are confirmed. Third-party verifiers often mark “catch-all” addresses which have been shown by the Apollo contributor network to be deliverable. Both are not incorrect – they tackle the uncertainty in different ways.
5. Which is cheaper?
This is largely dependent on whether you require the platform or just the data. Apollo offers sequences, dialer and CRM sync all in a single per-seat price. AI Ark does not have a seat multiplier and charges for credits only. The prices of AI Ark's per valid email are typically lower for teams using a sending tool already. With no stack at all, this is sometimes cheaper for a team all together than putting it together.
6. Does AI Ark have intent data?
Not currently. If buying signals are central to how you prioritise accounts, Apollo includes intent topics on its paid plans and AI Ark does not.
7. Can I use AI Ark inside Clay?
Yes, through the API via Clay's HTTP request module. Templates and a walkthrough are published in the AI Ark documentation. A native Clay integration is in development.
8. Can I try both before deciding?
Yes. Both run free tiers. Apollo's includes 900 credits per year; AI Ark's includes 100 credits per month, with up to 25 records per selection. Running the same search in both against your own ICP will tell you more than any comparison page.
